Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF EXTREMITY MUSCLE STRENGTH VALUE PATIENTS WITH STROKE AT RSUD KARANGASEM IN 2022 ABSTRACT Stroke is the disruption of blood flow to the brain because there is a blockage or rupture of blood vessels in the brain that causes the nervous system to be damaged. The impact is in the form of weakness on one side of the body (hemiparesis) which can be seen through decreased muscle strength based on the results of an examination using Manual Muscle Testing (MMT). The purpose of this study was to describe the value of extremity muscle strength in stroke patients at Karangasem Hospital in 2022. The research method used was descriptive quantitative with a retrospective approach. This research was conducted in April 2022 with the sampling technique used was non-probability sampling, namely consecutive sampling with a total of 161 samples. The results of this study indicate that men are the group with the most strokes, namely 82 respondents (50.9%) and the most age is > 65 years, namely 75 respondents (46.6%) with all respondents experiencing a decrease in extremity muscle strength. It is hoped that this research activity can be used as a basis for further research activities with a comparison method so that more optimal results are obtained. Keywords: description, muscle strength value, stroke GAMBARAN NILAI KEKUATAN OTOT EKSTREMITAS PADA PASIEN STROKE DI RSUD KARANGASEM TAHUN 2022 ABSTRAK Stroke adalah terganggunya aliran darah ke otak karena terdapat sumbatan atau pecahnya pembuluh darah di otak yang menyebabkan susunan saraf menjadi rusak. Dampak yang ditimbulkan berupa kelemahan satu sisi tubuh (hemiparese) yang terlihat melalui kekuatan otot yang menurun berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan menggunakan Manual Muscle Testing (MMT). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran nilai kekuatan otot ekstremitas pada pasien stroke di RSUD Karangasem tahun 2022. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan retrospektif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April 2022 dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yang dipakai adalah nonprobability sampling yaitu consecutive sampling dengan jumlah 161 sampel. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan laki-laki menjadi kelompok terbanyak mengalami stroke yaitu 82 responden (50,9%) dan usia terbanyak > 65 tahun yaitu 75 responden (46,6%) dengan seluruh responden mengalami penurunan kekuatan otot esktremitas. Kegiatan penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai dasar untuk kegiatan penelitian selanjutnya dengan metode perbandingan sehingga didapatkan hasil yang lebih optimal.
