Abstract
The nutritional status of children is one of the benchmarks for assessing the adequacy of daily nutritional intake needs and the use of these nutrients by the body. If the child's nutritional intake is always met and used as optimally as possible, of course his growth and development will be optimal. Nutritional disorders in children under five in general in terms of quantity has never been reduced. The causes of malnutrition in children under five can be seen from several factors, namely consumption factors and infection. In the consumption factor, the decrease in appetite for sick children is caused by various things, including factors of illness, changes in atmosphere, and changes in the form of food. While the infection factor, namely the length of hospitalization also affects nutritional status, one of which is pneumonia. Patients with severe pneumonia cannot be treated without hospitalization because patients with severe pneumonia require more treatment than patients with ordinary pneumonia
