Abstract

Any traditional processed food in all parts of Indonesia must have their own signature ingredients, as well as Balinese traditional foods. A traditional Balinese spice rich in spices is called base genep. For those who take great care of their health, enjoyment is no longer the top priority in choosing food, but it is more the benefit. One major trend in the world's food industry is the functional growth of the food industry. The purpose of this study is to know the benefits of seasoning as a functional food. The purpose of this research is to know the benefits of Bali seasonings as functional food. Data collection took place in february-april 2021 using systematic research. The literature analysed in this study is as much as 10. The seasoning is known to have the properties of antimicrobials and antioxidants proved by several preceding articles. The rich flavor of antioxidants and antimicrobials in seasonings proves that they are one of the functional foods for health and safe daily consumption. Key words: Seasoning, Balinese spices, Functional food.
