Abstract
The case of CED in Dawan District increased by 3.72%. It is feared that cases of pregnant women with CED, so that it can cause bleeding, prolonged labor, anemia, miscarriage, premature birth, low birth weight and stunting. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the characteristics of pregnant women and chronic energy deficiency in Dawan District in 2020. This research is a correlation analytic study with a retrospective approach, the research design is case control, the sample size is 110 respondents. Data obtained through secondary data. The data obtained were analyzed univariate analysis and bivariate analysis and presented in data tabulations. The results showed that the characteristics of pregnant women were mostly in the age group of 20-35 years (80.9%), basic education (41.9%), not working (66.4%), and primiparas (61.8%). The conclusion is a relationship between the characteristics of age, education, and parity of pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency and has no working relationship with CED. Therefore, it is important to promote about nutritional intake during pregnancy.
