Abstract

PERCENTAGE OF FISH EXPENDITURE AND FISH CONSUMPTION LEVEL OF INDONESIAN COMMUNITY ABSTRACT Indonesia is a maritime country that is divided into islands and part of its territory is quite extensive waters. There is a wide potential in the Indonesian seas in the form of abundant natural resources, including many species of fish, especially fish that can be consumed. The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is targeting fish consumption for Indonesians to reach 50.8 kg / capita / year by the end of 2018. The low consumption of fish per capita population in Indonesia is inversely proportional to the region which is rich in animal protein sources. Although the level of fish consumption of the Indonesian population is still very low, the contribution of fish protein to total animal protein is better, reaching more than 50%. The low consumption of fish in Indonesia is due to various factors related to price, income, consumer motivation, and so on related to the percentage of fish spending. Data was collected through documentation with a check list instrument obtained from 9 journals. The results of the literature study show that the level of fish consumption is still below the average with the target set by the KKP. When viewed from the five observations, it ranges from 29.37 to 40.1 kg/capita/year. And there are 6 provinces that are below the Average Per capita Expenditure for Fish Consumption for the Indonesian Population (Village + City) which is in the range of 4.29% - 6.03%.
