Abstract
IODIZED SALT AVAILABILITY IN THE HOUSEHOLD ABSTRACT The availability of iodized salt in the household is influenced by the knowledge, attitudes and practices of housewives. This literature review aims to describe the behavior of consuming iodized salt (GAIO) in households. From the five observations reviewed, it can be concluded that the percentage of housewives who have less knowledge of GAIO ranges from 12% to 100%; have a negative attitude towards GAIO between 8% and 56.2%; with a good GAIO intake ranging from 56% to 98.80%. From the results of the study, it is known that the research results are still heterogeneous or in other words there is a significant relations between knowledge, attitudes, and practices of using GAIO but some are not significant. This can be influenced by the size of the research sample. In addition to the size of the sample, the method of sampling also affects the results obtained. In addition, socialization about GAIO is also closely related to knowledge and attitudes towards using GAIO. If the knowledge of housewives about GAIO is good, then the attitude of the housewives towards GAIO is positive. Puskesmas are expected to provide information to housewives either through socialization or counseling or home visits regarding GAIO. Keywords: Availability, iodized salt (GAIO), housewives
