Abstract

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VEGETABLE AND FRUIT CONSUMPTION AND THE EVENT OF HYPERTENSION IN ADULT AGE GROUP ABSTRACT The prevalence of hypertension in several regions in Indonesia including Bali is still high. One of the triggering factors is that most Indonesians consume less vegetables and fruit. This literature review aims to determine the relationship between vegetable and fruit consumption and the incidence of hypertension in the adult age group. The results of the research being studied were traced with keywords according to the topic of discussion. From the six research results reviewed, it can be concluded that the percentage of hypertension sufferers in adults ranges from 22.9% to 77.5%. The percentage of hypertensive patients who never, rarely or less consume vegetables ranges from 15.2% to 61.9%, while the percentage of hypertensive patients who never, rarely or less consume fruit ranges from 19.1% to 56%, Fruit with the incidence of hypertension. Therefore, people with hypertension are especially advised to increase their consumption of vegetables and fruits so that the risk of hypertension being experienced is not fatal.
