Abstract

Long of Stay (LOS) is one indicator in assessing quality and efficiency of hospitals. 0.9-5 percent of patients experience weight loss after 14 days treatment, long treatment in the hospital can cause boredom. Patients with a long treatment memorized with the menu, if in the processing of food less varied can cause boredom, and the patient's appetite will be reduced. The purpose of writing this thesis is to know the Relationship of Long-Term Care with Changes in Weight and Food Waste in Inpatients. The type of research used is qualitative research using library study methods. The results of 11 journals can be concluded Short hospitalization length ranges from 45.7%-86.6% and long duration of care ranges from 13.4%-58.8%. Weight changes decreased from 4%-48.8%, fixed around 3.3%-44% from up around 51.2%-70%. Small leftovers (<20% ) range from 12.4%-89.7% and have a lot of leftovers (>20 %) 10.3% – 67.6 %.From the analysis of the relationship of long hospitalization with weight changes stated that there is no relationship, while from the analysis of relationship of long-time care with food waste there is a relation that the longer duration of care respondents the more food waste Keywords : Length of stay, Changes in weight,Food waste.
