Abstract

AN OVERVIEW OF DIET PATTERNS IN PATIENTS WITH HYPERTENSION AT THE PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER SUKAWATI I REGENCY IN 2021 ABSTRACK The occurrence of changes in the diet of the people whose composition is consuming too much protein, high calorie, sugar, low fiber, and high fat foods can cause an imbalance in nutritional consumption and a risk factor for degenerative diseases such as hypertension. Hypertension, namely an increase in systolic blood pressure> 140 mmHg and diastolic> 90 mmHg. Blood pressure was classified into, normal, prehypertension, hypertension level 1 and hypertension level 2. Diet in hypertensive patients was measured using a questionnaire concerning the type, quantity and frequency of food. The purpose of this study was to describe the dietary patterns of hypertensive patients in the Work Area of UPT Kesmas Sukawati I in 2021. This study used a quantitative descriptive design method and used a cross sectional approach. The study was conducted in April with a sample of 36 people, the sampling technique was nonprobability sampling, purposive sampling method. The results of this study showed that most of the lack of diet in hypertension level 1 were 10 respondents (27.78%), 8 respondents (22.22%) had less diet in prehypertension, and 4 respondents ( 11.11%). Based on the research results, it is hoped that this study will be used as the basis for further research on hypertension with different methods such as comparing the relationship between diet and the incidence of hypertension, or other factors that cause hypertension such as lifestyle, stress and others.
