Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF HOPELESSNESS IN STROKE PATIENTS AT RSUD SANJIWANI GIANYAR IN 2021 ABSTRACT Stroke is a chronic disease that causes death and disability in the world, caused by disorder circulatory in brain that leads weakness and paralysis of the muscles. This condition can cause psychological effects including hopelessness. Hopelessness is condition of individuals who looked at the lack of alternative or unavailability of the solution to their problems. This research aims to describe hopelessness in stroke patients at RSUD Sanjiwani Gianyar in 2021. This research using the kind of descriptive research with the cross sectional approach. The samples in this research were 57 people. The sampling technique in this research was purposive sampling. Instrument in this research was using Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS) questionnaire. The results show that of the 57 respondents, 29 people (50,9%) had moderate level of hopelessness, 22 people (38,6%) had mild level of hopelessness, and 6 people (10,5%) had severe level of hopelessness. From these results it can be concluded that the most of the research subjects experienced hopelessness in moderate category. Keywords : Stroke, Hopelessness
