Abstract
Early initiation of breastfeeding is when the baby starts to breastfeed on his own soon after birth. Giving Early Initiation of Breastfeeding can provide a large nutritional coverage for babies, because the content of milk that comes out of the mother's breast for the first time is colostrum which is very beneficial for the baby, especially as a formation of the baby's body immunity. This study aims to determine the description of the level of knowledge and attitudes of post-partum mothers about early breastfeeding in the Rendang Public Health Center in 2021. This type of research is quantitative research with a descriptive design. The sampling technique in this research is non-probability, namely by means of purposive sampling. The sample used in this study were 44 respondents. The results of this study in terms of characteristics, namely the age of most respondents aged 21-29, as many as 25 people (56.8%), in terms of education level, most of the respondents with high school / vocational education were 17 people (38.6%). Based on the results of the study showed that most of the postpartum mothers had sufficient knowledge of Early Breastfeeding Initiation, namely 26 people (59.1%). And the attitude of postpartum mothers about Early Initiation of Breastfeeding was obtained by 34 people (77.3%) having favorable attitudes.
