Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder caused by the pancreas not producing enough insulin or the body unable to use the insulin it produces effectively. This study aims to determine and describe the compliance of diabetes mellitus patients in undergoing insulin therapy at the Karangasem I Public Health Center in 2021. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study with a cross sectional approach method. The method of sampling in this study is by using purposive sampling. This research was conducted in March-April 2021 in the Karangasem I Community Health Center with a total sample of 44 respondents. Data collection using the MMAS-8 questionnaire. The results of this study are that in terms of the characteristics of the respondents, it is found that the most umar suffers from diabetes mellitus, namely 65-74 years as many as 23 people (52,4%), with the most gender being male with 24 people (59,3%), the most education is basic education amounted to 25 people (56,8%), the most jobs obtained were with stams not working as many as 25 people (56,8%) based on the results of the study, most people with diabetes mellitus had low compliance in undergoing insulin therapy as many as 23 people (49,3%).
