Abstract
BODY IMAGE IN DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENT WHO HAVE DIABETIC ULCER IN THE WORK AREA OF UPT KESMAS GIANYAR 1 IN 2021 ABSTRACT Body image is a change in perception about the body due to changes in size, shape, structure, function, limitations, meanings and objects that frequently come into contact with the body. Physical perception of the body with how it perceives itself physically. Negative perceptions of the structure of the body that cause shame to relate to other people. The purpose of this study was to see the body image in diabetes mellitus patient who have diabetic ulcers in the work area of UPTKesmas Gianyar 1 in 2021. This study used a descriptive method with a survey research design and used a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted in April 2021 with a total sample of 46 people using nonprobability sampling with a purposive sampling method. The results showed that most of 32 people (69.6%) had a negative body image. Infectious disease in respondents aged 31-59 years, female sex and diabetes mellitus for ≥ 10 years. The conclusion of this study is that the body image of diabetes mellitus patients who have diabetic ulcers in the in the work area of UPT Kesmas Gianyar 1 has a negative body image.
