Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF THE LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE IN ELDERLY IN BANJAR TELAGA SIBETAN VILLAGE BEBANDEM DISTRICT KARANGASEM REGENCY YEAR 2021 Abstract Elderly is a life cycle that cannot be avoided by every human being. Elderly is a period in which organs have attained a decrease in size and function over time. Elderly is someone who has reached the age of 60 years and over. This study aims to determine how the description of the level of independence in the elderly in Banjar Telaga, Sibetan Village, Loaddem District, Karangasem Regency in 2021. The data analysis method used is descriptive method. The sampling technique used in this study was total sampling with 132 research samples. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the majority of respondents with an age range of 60-75 years were 98 respondents (74.2%). The majority of gender respondents were male as many as 86 respondents (65.1%). From the education level of the most respondents, 71 respondents (53.8%), and the majority of respondents' occupations were farmers as many as 49 respondents (37.1%). Based on the results of the research conducted, it was found that the total dependent respondents were 12 respondents (9.1%), and independent respondents were 80 respondents (60.6%). Suggestions for the elderly are to be able to participate in activities held by the Puskesmas, one of which is elderly gymnastics to improve strength, balance and prevent disease and help increase the independence of the elderly.
