Abstract
Also known as calculus or tartar, tartar is a hard, yellow layer that sticks to the teeth and feels rough, which can cause problems with the teeth. The head of the family plays an important role as a role model in the family including knowledge of tartar. The purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge of tartar in the heads of households in Klungkung Regency in 2021, which amounted to 45 heads of families in the IPE Community Health Polytechnic Community Service Program in Klungkung Regency in 2021. This type of research is descriptive research. The data collection method used a questionnaire with 20 questions in the form of google form. The results showed the percentage of family heads who had good knowledge (37.78%), enough criteria (44.44%), less criteria (17.78%). The average level of knowledge of the head of the household about tartar was 72, which was in sufficient category. In conclusion, as many as (44.44%) of family heads had a sufficient level of knowledge about tartar with an average of 72 (sufficient). Key words: knowledge, tartar, head of the family.
