Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF NURSING CARE IN RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS PATIENTTS WITH WARM GINGER COMPRESSES TO REDUCE CHRONIC PAIN ABSTRACT Non-communicable diseases that attack the musculoskeletal system include rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic systemic inflammatory disease or autoimmune disease that has the characteristics of damage to the joints, a person suffering from rheumatoid arthritis will experience symptoms of pain in the joints. One of the non-pharmacological pain management is by applying warm compresses of ginger which contains cyclooxygenation enzyme which can reduce inflammation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, ginger also has pharmacological effects namely hot and spicy which can relieve pain. This study aims to determine the description of nursing care for rheumatoid arthritis patients by giving warm ginger compresses to reduce chronic pain. This type of research is a type of descriptive research with a case study design on two subjects with rheumatoid arthritis who experience chronic pain. The data collection method was carried out through a review of the Denpasar Poltekkes Denpasar repository journal. The intervention given is ginger warm compress therapy because it contains cyclooxygenation enzymes and a burning sensation. The results of the case study showed that after giving warm ginger compress therapy for 5 times in 20 minutes the pain scale results in both subjects decreased, in subject 1 Ny.NW on the pain scale 4 to 2, and in the subject 2 Tn.WR on the pain scale 3 be 1. It can be concluded that there is a decrease in pain scale in rheumatoid arthritis patients given warm ginger compresses. Suggestions for people who have rheumatoid arthritis to be able to use warm ginger compress therapy that can reduce inflammation and pain in the joint area. Keywords: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Pain, Ginger Warm Compress   GAMBARAN ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA PASIEN RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS DENGAN PEMBERIAN KOMPRES HANGAT JAHE UNTUK MENURUNKAN NYERI KRONIS ABSTRAK Penyakit tidak menular yang menyerang sistem musculoskeletal salah satunya yaitu rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis merupakan penyakit inflamasi sistemik kronik atau penyakit autoimun yang memiliki karakteristik terjadinya kerusakan pada tulang sendi, seseorang yang menderita rheumatoid arthritis akan mengalami gejala berupa rasa nyeri pada bagian sendi. Salah satu manajemen nyeri non farmakologi yaitu dengan melakukan kompres hangat jahe yang memiliki kandungan enzim siklooksigenasi yang dapat mengurangi peradangan pada penderita rheumatoid arthritis, jahe juga memiliki efek farmakologis yaitu rasa panas dan pedas yang dapat meredakan rasa nyeri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran asuhan keperawatan pasien rheumatoid arthritis dengan pemberian kompres hangat jahe untuk menurunkan nyeri kronis. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan rancangan studi kasus pada dua subjek dengan rheumatoid arthritis yang mengalami nyeri kronis. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui review jurnal repository Poltekkes Denpasar. Intervensi yang diberikan yaitu terapi kompres hangat jahe karena memiliki kandungan enzim siklooksigenasi dan rasa panas. Hasil studi kasus menunjukkan setelah diberikan terapi kompres hangat jahe selama 5 kali dalam waktu 20 menit didapatkan hasil skala nyeri pada kedua subjek menurun, pada subjek 1 Ny.NW dari skala nyeri 4 menjadi 2, dan pada subjek 2 Tn.WR dari skala nyeri 3 menjadi 1. Dapat disimpulkan terjadi penurunan skala nyeri pada pasien rheumatoid arthritis yang diberikan kompres hangat jahe. Saran bagi masyarakat yang mengalami rheumatoid arthritis agar dapat menggunakan terapi kompres hangat jahe yang dapat mengurangi peradangan dan nyeri pada daerah persendian.
