Abstract
Knowledge is the result of human sensing or the result of knowing someone about an object through their senses. Efforts to increase knowledge are health education targeted at vulnerable groups of primary school children. Measuring oral and dental hygiene is an effort to determine the state of dental and oral hgiene of a person. One way to determine dental and oral hygiene is used at an index called OHI-S. This study aims to determine the description of knowledge about maintaining dental and oral health and oral hygiene in students class III SDN 12 Sesetan, Kecamatan Denpasar Selatan in 2019. This type of research is a descriptive study by using secondary data in the from of data about dental and oral health maintenance knowledge as well as dental and oral hygiene data derived from dental and oral health care service reports. The number of respondents in this study were 35 students. The results of this study indicate that students who have knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance with an average grade of 76 is a good criteria. Average oral and dental hygiene of 1,27 is a moderate criteria. The average oral and dental hygiene based on knowledge about maintaining oral health with a good criteria of 19 people (1,16), enough criteria of 15 people (1,40), criteria for less than 1 person (1,33).
