Abstract

BODY IMAGE PERCEPTION, BALANCED NUTRITION PRACTICES AND LESS ENERGY EVENTS IN ADOLESCENT ADOLESCENTS OF SMA NEGERI 1 KUTA UTARA ABSTRACT In Indonesia, the problem of malnutrition and over nutrition is a problem that still often occurs in adolescence, especially in adolescent girls. Adolescent girls are one of the nation's successors who will become prospective mothers and give birth to healthy babies, one of the problems of malnutrition in young women is lack of chronic energy (KEK). Where the problem occurs due to teenage girls tend to begin to pay attention to their body shape so that the perception of negative body image (dissatisfaction with the body) appears which causes restrictions on eating patterns to obtain the desired body shape. To prevent nutritional problems from occurring it is very important to start a healthy lifestyle in accordance with the guidelines for balanced nutrition (PGS). The guidelines for balanced nutrition consist of 4 principles namely food diversity, physical activity, cleanliness and ideal body weight. The purpose of this study was to determine perceptions of body image, balanced nutrition practices and chronic energy deficiency events in female teenagers in Sma Negeri 1 Kuta Utara. This type of observational study with cross-sectional design and the number of sample studies were 70 young women. Data collected by online method using google form. Data analysis using Chi Square statistical test. From the results of the study, it is known that young women who have upper arm circumference ≤ 23.5 cm (20%), upper arm circumference ≥ 23.5 cm (80%). Most adolescents had negative body image perception (75.7%) and positive body image perception (24.3%). Whereas for the practice of balanced nutrition as many as (55.7%) young women were classified as lacking in balanced nutrition practices and (44.3%) young women were classified as adequate in the practice of balanced nutrition. The results showed that there was no relationship between body image perception and balanced nutrition practice, p value = 0.791 and there was a relationship between balanced nutrition practice and chronic energy deficiency events, p value = 0.002, and there was no relationship between body image perception and chronic energy deficiency, p value = 0.329.
