Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF DENTAL CARIES AND CARIOGENIC FOOD EATING HABITS IN STUDENTS OF GRADE IV AND V SDN 2 BATUAN KALER IN 2019 ABSTRACT School-aged children are one of the most vulnerable groups of caries, because they generally have lack of knowledge and behavior about oral health, such as the habit of consuming cariogenic foods that trigger the dental caries. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of dental caries as well as eating habits of cariogenic foods in grade IV and V students of SDN 2 Batuan Kaler in 2019. This type of research was descriptive with the number of respondents 65 students. The result of the study of 65 students in SDN 2 BatuanKaler The percentage of students who had the most cariogenic food eating habits was in the moderate category (2 times a day), namely: 35.4%. The percentage of 22 students who have low cariogenic food eating habits (1 time a day) as many as 15 students (68.19%) have dental caries with an average dental caries of 0.23 means that one student has caries one tooth that experiences caries The average permanent tooth experiencing caries is 1.44. The permanent tooth mode that has caries is tooth 36 (left lower first molar tooth). Keywords: Dental caries, cariogenic food, elementary school students
