Abstract
Dental and oral health is influenced by several factors, one of wich is the regularity of brushing teeth. People in Badung District who brush their teeth are 94,2%, brushing their teeth after bathing in the morning and evening which is 66,9%, after breakfast 5,0%, before going to bad that night 43,3% and behaves correctly brushing teeth which is 3,6%. This situation shows that the behavior of self maintenance in Badung district in dental and oral health is still not optimal. The purpose of this research is to know the description of tooth brushing behavior and OHI-S in grade five SD No 1 Baha, Mengwi district, Badung regency year 2019. This research is descriptive research and survey desage. The data taken are primary data and secondary data. The population in this study amounted to 42 people.The results of the study showed that students who brushed their with good criteria were four (9,52%) people, were eight (19,04%) people, needed guidance of 30 (71,42%) people and not the students with very good criteria. The level of OHI-S with good criteria were three (7,14%) people, were 34 (80,95%) people, and are five (11,90%) people bad. The average level of OHI-S is 2,02 with moderate criteria. The conclusions from this study were that grade fifth students had more brushing behavior and OHI-S with moderate criteria. Keywords : brushing behavior, OHI-S.
