Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COMPLIANCE WITH IRON (FE) TABLET CONSUMPTION AND HEMOGLOBIN LEVELS IN THIRD TRIMESTER PREGNANT WOMEN AT THE WORKING AREA OF PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER III, NORTH DENPASAR ABSTRACT Background: Anemia in pregnant women remains a health problem that can affect both the mother and fetus. One of the prevention efforts is the consumption of iron (Fe) tablets; however, its effectiveness is influenced by the level of adherence among pregnant women. This study aimed to determine the relationship between adherence to Fe tablet consumption and hemoglobin levels in third-trimester pregnant women at Public Health Center III North Denpasar. Methods: This study used an analytic descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach involving all third-trimester pregnant women in the working area of Public Health Center III North Denpasar. A total of 32 respondents were selected using the consecutive sampling technique. Data were collected using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) questionnaire to measure adherence and hemoglobin examination using the Cyanmethemoglobin method. Data were analyzed using the Fisher Freeman-Halton Exact Test. Results: Most respondents had low adherence (40.6%) and normal hemoglobin levels (59.4%). Statistical analysis showed p < 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between adherence to Fe tablet consumption and hemoglobin levels. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between adherence to Fe tablet consumption and hemoglobin levels in third-trimester pregnant women. Improving adherence through education and assistance is necessary to prevent anemia. Salah satu upaya pencegahan adalah konsumsi tablet Fe, namun keberhasilannya dipengaruhi oleh tingkat kepatuhan ibu hamil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kepatuhan konsumsi tablet Fe dengan kadar hemoglobin pada ibu hamil trimester III di wilayah Puskesmas III Denpasar Utara. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional pada populasi seluruh ibu hamil trimester III di wilayah kerja Puskesmas III Denpasar Utara, dengan sampel sebanyak 32 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) untuk mengukur kepatuhan dan pemeriksaan kadar hemoglobin metode Cyanmethemoglobin. Analisis data menggunakan uji Fisher-Freeman-Halton Exact Test. Hasil: Sebagian besar responden memiliki kepatuhan rendah (40,6%) dan kadar hemoglobin normal (59,4%). Uji statistik menunjukkan p < 0,001 yang berarti terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kepatuhan konsumsi tablet Fe dan kadar hemoglobin. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kepatuhan konsumsi tablet Fe dan kadar hemoglobin pada ibu hamil trimester III. Peningkatan kepatuhan melalui edukasi dan pendampingan diperlukan untuk mencegah anemia. Kata kunci: Kepatuhan, Tablet Fe
