Abstract

ABSTRACT The contraceptive method that is mostly chosen in Indonesia, one of which is injection of Depo Medoxyprogesterone Acetate (DMPA). The DMPA injection contraception contains the hormone progesterone which causes the hormone estrogen to be unbalanced, resulting in an increase in total cholesterol. This study aims to the relationship between duration of DMPA injection useage with cholesterole levels on family planning acceptors in South Denpasar I Primary Health Center on 2019. The type of research used is non-experimental with the type of correlational withapproach cross sectional. Sampling uses non probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique of 35 respondents. The instrument of collection through interviews and examination of cholesterol levels was measured by the Electrode-Based Biosensor method using the EasyTouch GCU Kit. The results showed that the majority of DMPA injection contraceptive use for ≥36 months (57.1%), most had rather high cholesterol levels (40.0%). The hypothesis test used is Chi-Square test with a p value = 0,000 (α = 0.05), so that there is the relationship between duration of DMPA injection useage with cholesterole levels on family planning acceptors in South Denpasar I Primary Health Center on 2019. Based on the results of the study, the suggestion is expected to health workers can become a reference to provide education and counseling regarding the importance of measuring cholesterol levels routinely in family planning acceptors of DMPA injection. ABSTRAK Metode kontrasepsi yang sebagian besar dipilih di Indonesia yaitu suntik Depo Medroksiprogesteron Asetat (DMPA). Kontrasepsi suntik DMPA mengandung hormon progesteron yang menyebabkan hormon estrogen tidak seimbang, mengakibatkan peningkatan kolesterol total. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan lama pemakaian kontrasepsi suntik DMPA dengan kadar kolesterol pada akseptor KB di wilayah kerja Puskesmas I Denpasar Selatan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah adalah non-eksperimen dengan jenis korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan non probability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 35 responden. Instrumen pengumpulan melalui wawancara dan pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol diukur dengan metode Electrode-Based Biosensor menggunakan alat EasyTouch GCU Kit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar pemakaian kontrasepsi suntik DMPA selama ≥36 bulan (57,1%), sebagian besar memiliki kadar kolesterol agak tinggi (40,0%). Uji hipotesis yang digunakan adalah uji Chi-Square dengan nilai p value = 0,000 (α=0,05), sehingga ada hubungan yang signifikan antara lama pemakaian kontrasepsi suntik DMPA dengan kadar kolesterol pada akseptor KB di wilayah kerja Puskesmas I Denpasar Selatan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan dalam pemberian edukasi dan konseling mengenai pentingnya pengukuran kadar kolesterol secara rutin pada akseptor KB suntik DMPA.
