Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF-COMPASSION AND SELF-CARE IN TYPE 2 DM PATIENTS WITH DIABETIC FOOT AT BULELENG REGIONAL GENERAL HOSPITAL IN 2025 ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease caused by the pancreas's inability to produce insulin optimally. Diabetic foot conditions can impact self-compassion and worsen self-care behaviors. This study aimed to determine the relationship between self-compassion and self-care among patients with type 2 DM experiencing diabetic foot complications at the Buleleng Regional General Hospital in 2025.This research employed a quantitative non-experimental method using a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 63 diabetic foot patients who visited the Internal Medicine Clinic at the hospital and were selected through purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria.The average age of respondents was 58.92 years, with 60.3% being female. All participants had been diagnosed with type 2 DM for more than five years. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank test, resulting in a p-value of 0.000 with a significance level (α) of 0.05, and a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.484.The results indicate a moderate correlation between self-compassion and self-care in patients with type 2 DM experiencing diabetic foot at Buleleng Regional General Hospital in 2025. Keywords : self-care, self-compassion, diabetic foot HUBUNGAN SELF-COMPASSION DENGAN SELF-CARE PADA PASIEN DM TIPE 2 YANG MENGALAMI KAKI DIABETIK DI RSUD KABUPATEN BULELENG TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK Diabetes melitus (DM) merupakan penyakit kronis akibat ketidakmampuan pankreas menghasilkan insulin secara optimal. Kaki diabetik dapat mempengaruhi self-compassion dan memperburuk self-care. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan self-compassion dengan self-care pada pasien DM tipe 2 yang mengalami kaki diabetik di RSUD Kabupaten Buleleng tahun 2025. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif non-eksperimental dengan desain penelitian deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan crossectional. Sampel penelitian ini merupakan pasien kaki diabetik yang melakukan kunjungan ke Poliklinik Penyakit Dalam RSUD Kabupaten Buleleng sebanyak 63 orang yang dipilih dengan purposive sampling yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Usia rata-rata responden adalah 58,92 tahun. Sebanyak 60,3% responden berjenis kelamin perempuan. Seluruh responden telah mengalami DM tipe 2 selama lebih dari 5 tahun. Data yang terkumpul diuji secara statistik dengan uji Spearman Rank memperoleh nilai p = 0,000 dengan nilai α yaitu 0,05, dan koefisien korelasi (r) yaitu 0,484. Ada hubungan yang sedang antara self-compassion dengan self-care pada pasien DM tipe 2 yang mengalami kaki diabetik di RSUD Kabupaten Buleleng tahun 2025.
