Abstract
Toddler are under five years old, at this age the toddler grows and develops quickly so it needs more nutrients and toddler are very dependent on parenting. The impact of false parenting leads to underweight and over nutrition, development is disrupted. The purpose of this study to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and parenting patterns of mother with nutritional status of toddler. This research used observational method with cross sectional approach. Research location in the Village Kesiman Kertalangu East Denpasar. The sample in this study is the entire population of 87 people. Data were collected by performing anthropometric measurements, interviews using knowledge questionnaires and parenting patterns were then analyzed using Pearson. The result of the research shows that the knowledge of mother care pattern with good category is 87,4%, enough 10,3% and less 2,3%. Foster pattern of mother with good category as much as 66,7%, enough 29,9% and less 3,4%. Nutritional status (Weight Loss/Age) good nutrition 88.5%, less 2.3% and over nutrition 9.2%. Nutrition status (Body height/Age) is nominal 89.7%, short 2.3%, very short 2.3% and high 5.7%. Nutritional status of the sample with the obese category was 18.4%, 1.1% thin and 80.5% normal. There was a significant correlation between knowledge and parenting values (p = 0.001 r = 0.36). Then there was no significant relationship of parenting pattern and nutritional status Weight Loss/Age value (p = 0,98 r = 0,179), parenting pattern and nutritional status Body height/Age value (p = 0,69 r = 0,196) and no relationship parenting and nutritional status Weight Loss/Body height values (p = 0.25 r = 0.125). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship of knowledge and parenting pattern, while the pattern of care with nutritional status there is not relationship in the Village Kesiman Kertalangu East Denpasar.
