Abstract
Proper nutritional intake in the First 1000 Days of Life, starting from conception to the first 2 years of life will determine the quality of life. Nutritional problems that occur in the early days of life will have a severe impact and are irreversible. Improper feeding practices are the main cause of early nutritional problems. Fulfillment of nutrition in a child begins with exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months. Starting from the age of 6 months, when only breast milk is not enough to meet the nutritional needs of infants, this is a vulnerable period, so it is necessary to provide adequate and balanced complementary foods. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of teaching MP-ASI in toddler mothers' classes on changes in mothers' knowledge and skills in making MP-ASI in Tumbu Village. Type of Quasi-experimental Research using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 42 people. Knowledge data was collected by filling out a questionnaire, then calculating the total score of each answer and then comparing it to the highest score. Skills data was collected by observation using a checklist, then grouped into 2 categories. Skilled if ≥80%, less skilled ≤80%. The results showed that before the research was carried out with good knowledge 66.7%, 31% moderate and 2.4 less. After being given counseling there were good knowledge 95.2% and moderate knowledge 4.8%. %. The results of the study found that there were differences in the knowledge of mothers under five before and after counseling (p = 0.000). There are differences in the skills of mothers under five before and after counseling (p = 0.000). Counseling on MP ASI in classes for toddler mothers is effective in increasing knowledge and skills.
