Abstract
One of the nutritional problems that is often found among adolescent girls is anemia. Anemia can be caused by a lack of consumption of macro and micronutrients, for example energy, protein, iron, and vitamin C as well as menstrual patterns. The impact of anemia on adolescent girls can cause a decrease in endurance so that they are susceptible to infectious diseases, decreased fitness, decreased concentration and if ignored until they become pregnant women can increase the risk of late fetal growth, premature babies, LBW, and child growth and development disorders. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between energy, protein, iron and vitamin consumption and menstrual patterns in female students of SMP Negeri 10 Denpasar. The type of research in this study was observational using a cross sectional design. The population in this study were 7th and 8th grade students with a sample size of 80 people selected by proportional random sampling. Macro and micronutrient consumption data were obtained using a semi-quantitative food frequency (SQ-FFQ) questionnaire. Bivariate data were analyzed using Spearman rank test. The results of this study showed there was no significant relationship (p<0.05) between energy consumption and hemoglobin levels and between protein consumption and hemoglobin levels, there was a significant relationship (p<0.05) between iron consumption and hemoglobin levels, vitamin C consumption and hemoglobin levels, and between duration and hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls.
