Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDES, AND ACTIONS OF CONSUMING SAFE SNACK FOOD WITH NUTRITIONAL STATUS IN STUDENTS AT SMK NEGERI 1 GIANYAR ABSTRACT Nutrition is a balance between the amount of nutrient intake and what is needed by the body for physical growth, development, and activity. In adolescence, health vulnerabilities often occur, especially nutritional problems. There are several reasons why adolescents are prone to nutritional problems, namely unhealthy lifestyles, excessive consumption of certain foods, and poor eating habits. One way to overcome nutritional problems is to have sufficient knowledge about safe snack foods. Knowledge about safe snack food is very influential when determining, selecting, and buying snack food to be consumed, the better the knowledge of students, the better it will be in responding to the type of snack food that is healthy and safe for students, so that nutritional status becomes better. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and actions of consuming safe snack food with nutritional status in students at SMK Negeri 1 Gianyar. This type of research is observational with a cross sectional approach. The sample number was 81 people. Based on the results of the study, most students had knowledge of safe snack food with a good category of 58 (71.6%). Most students have an attitude towards safe snack food with a good category of 50 (61.7%). Most students had a safe snack food consumption action with a sufficient category of 56 (69.1%). The results of the analysis with spearman correlation showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and actions of consuming safe snack foods with nutritional status with a p-value of 0.000 which was smaller than α = 0.05.
