Abstract
RELATIONSHIP OF MATERNAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXCLUSIVE BREASTFEEDING WITH NUTRITIONAL STATUS IN INFANTS AGED 0-6 MONTHS AT PUSKESMAS III DENPASAR UTARA ABSTRACT Exclusive breastfeeding is the provision of breast milk as early as possible without any additions such as formula milk and without the addition of other solid foods to newborns until the baby is 6 months old. Continuous exclusive breastfeeding is defined as one of the most effective interventions to prevent infant and child mortality. Lack of breast milk in this age range can affect a child's nutritional status decline. This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding with nutritional status in infants aged 0-6 months at Puskesmas III North Denpasar. This research is an observational study with a cross sectional design. The number of samples in this study consisted of 51 samples with statistical testing using the Korelasi Sperman test. The results showed that most of the knowledge of breastfeeding was still good (74%), exclusive breastfeeding by the baby's mother was greater (78%) than the baby's mother who did not give exclusive breastfeeding (22%) and nutritional status was still in the category good (86%) by weight for age. Based on these results, mother's knowledge with exclusive breastfeeding was not significantly with result (r = 0,17) and exclusive breastfeeding with nutritional status was not significantly with result (r = 0,06) Keywords : Exclusive breastfeeding, Mother's knowledge, Baby's nutritional status
