Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP OF MOTHER'S KNOWLEDGE LEVELS ABOUT NUTRITION AND CHILDREN'S DIET WITH THE THE NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF CHILDREN IN DEWI KUMARA KINDERGARTEN DELOD PEKEN TABANAN ABSTRACT Nutritional status is one of the important elements in shaping health status. Nutritional status is a condition caused by a balance between the intake of nutrients from food and the need for nutrients by the body. A person's nutritional status depends on their nutritional intake and needs, if the nutritional intake and the needs of their body are balanced, it will produce a good nutritional status. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of maternal knowledge about nutrition, diet and nutritional status of children of Dewi Kumara Delod Peken Tabanan Kindergarten. The type of research is observational with a cros sectional research design. The sampling technique uses nonprobability sampling of total sampling. The sample size in the study was 65 kindergarten children. Data collection was carried out by interviews using questionnaires, the SQ-FFQ method and knowledge level questionnaires. The results showed that maternal knowledge of most of the categories was good (87.7%), the frequency of eating the good category (78.5%), the type of foodstuffs in the good category (81.5%), the amount of energy intake in the good category (29.2%), the amount of protein intake in the good category (18.5%), the diet of the good category (86.2%), and the nutritional status was good (70.8%). The results of the pearson choleration test showed no knowledge relationship with the diet obtained values (p=0.814, r=0.030). After the test, there was a relationship between diet and nutritional status, results were obtained (p = 0.004, r = 0.350). Furthermore, after the same test was carried out, the results found that there was a relationship between the frequency of eating and nutritional status (p= 0.000, r = 0.460). Furthermore, the results were obtained, there was no relationship between the type of meal and nutritional status (p=0.064, r=0.611). For the next variable, after the test, there was a relationship between the number of meals and nutritional status (p=0.358, r=0.003). Keywords : Knowledge Level, Diet, Nutritional Status
