Abstract

DIFFERENCES IN THE QUALITY OF LIFE CANCER PATIENTS UNDERGOING IMMUNOTHERAPY AND CHEMOTHERAPY ABSTRACT Cancer is a chronic disease that can affect patients' quality of life. Chemotherapy and immunotherapy are cancer treatment modalities with different mechanisms of action and side effects, which may result in different impacts on patients' quality of life. This study aimed to determine the differences in the quality of life of cancer patients undergoing immunotherapy and chemotherapy at Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G Ngoerah General Hospital, Denpasar, in 2026. This study employed a comparative quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 30 respondents, including 15 patients undergoing immunotherapy and 15 patients undergoing chemotherapy, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) and analyzed using the Independent Sample T-Test. he results showed that the majority of patients undergoing immunotherapy had a good quality of life (66.7%), while 46.7% of patients in the chemotherapy group had a good quality of life. The mean quality of life score in the immunotherapy group was 80.80, whereas in the chemotherapy group it was 74.27. The Independent Sample T-Test revealed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference in quality of life between the two groups. In conclusion, there is a significant difference in the quality of life of cancer patients undergoing immunotherapy and chemotherapy. Keywords: cancer, quality of life, immunotherapy, chemotherapy. PERBEDAAN KUALITAS HIDUP PASIEN KANKER YANG MENJALANI TERAPI IMUNOTERAPI DAN KEMOTERAPI ABSTRAK Kanker merupakan penyakit kronis yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup pasien. Kemoterapi dan imunoterapi merupakan terapi kanker yang memiliki mekanisme kerja dan efek samping berbeda sehingga dapat memberikan dampak yang berbeda terhadap kualitas hidup pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hidup pasien kanker yang menjalani terapi imunoterapi dan kemoterapi di RSUP Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G Ngoerah Denpasar 2026. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif komparatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 30 responden yang terdiri dari 15 pasien imunoterapi dan 15 pasien kemoterapi dengan teknik purposive sampling. data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner EORTC QLQL-C30 dan analisis menggunakan uji Independent T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sebagian besar pasien yang menjalani imunoterapi memiliki kualitas hidup baik 66,7%, sedangkan pada kelompok kemoterapi sebanyak 46,7%. Rata-rata skor kualitas hidup kelompok imunoterapi adalah 80,80 dan kelompok kemoterapi adalah 74,27. Hasil uji Independent Sample T-Test menunjukan nilai p=0.000 (p<0.05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan kualitas hidup pasien yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok.
