Abstract

OVERVIEW OF TOOTH LOSS AND USE OF DENTURES IN PKK IN AWAN VILLAGE IN 2026 ABSTRACT National tooth loss at the age of 34-44 years is 17.5% and is increasing at the age of 65 years and above by 30.6%. The purpose of this study is to find out the picture of tooth loss and the use of dentures in the PKK in Awan Village in 2026. The type of research used was descriptive research with a total population of 150 people while the number of samples used was 60 respondents selected using simple random sampling techniques. Data collection is carried out through direct examinations and interviews. The results showed that 52 respondents (86.7%) experienced tooth loss, the most were in the category of <6 teeth as many as 46 respondents (88.6%) and the average tooth loss was 2.57. The use of dentures is still low, namely eight respondents (14.8%). The main cause of tooth loss was caries, namely, as many as 49 respondents (94.2%). It can be concluded that the problem of tooth loss is still high and the use of dentures is still low, so it is necessary to increase promotive and preventive efforts for dental and oral health. Keywords: tooth loss, dentures, caries, PKK GAMBARAN KEHILANGAN GIGI DAN PENGGUNAAN GIGI TIRUAN PADA IBU PKK DI DESA AWAN TAHUN 2026 ABSTRAK Kehilangan gigi nasional pada usia 34-44 tahun sebesar 17,5% dan semakin mengalami peningkatan pada usia 65 tahun keatas sebesar 30,6%. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kehilangan gigi dan penggunaan gigi tiruan pada PKK di Desa Awan tahun 2026. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan jumlah total populasi 150 orang sedangkan jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 60 responden dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pemeriksaan langsung dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 52 responden (86,7%) mengalami kehilangan gigi, paling banyak adalah kategori sedikit <6 gigi sebanyak 46 responden (88,6%) dan rata-rata kehilangan gigi sebesar 2,57. Penggunaan gigi tiruan masih rendah, yaitu delapan responden (14,8%). Penyebab utama kehilangan gigi adalah karies yaitu, sebanyak 49 responden (94,2%). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa masalah kehilangan gigi masih tinggi dan penggunaan gigi tiruan masih rendah, sehingga diperlukan peningkatan upaya promotif dan preventif kesehatan gigi dan mulut.
