Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF BEHAVIOR PATIENT WITH DIABETES MELLITUS OF THE ELDERLY IN BALER BALE AGUNG VILLAGE NEGARA SUBDISTRICT JEMBRANA REGENCY YEAR 2021 ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is defined as the sillent killer.This disease is often faced by the elderly including the elderly of indonesian. Diabetes mellitus can be fatal if the management behavior is incorrect. The diabetes mellitus management behavior aims to improve the quality of life, control blood sugar levels to stay within normal ranges and prevent the occurrence of acute and chronic complications. This research aims describe of the behavior of diabetes mellitus patients in the elderly in Baler Bale Agung Village Negara Sub District Jembrana District. Type of this research was descriptive with quantitative approximation. A sampling technique was purposive sampling. The measuring instruments used quationnaires. The results showed that the underlying elderly people who suffer from diabetes mellitus in fulfilling the urge to discipline in the management of diabetes mellitus include knowledge that is classified into good as many as 22 people (58.1%) and the enough as many as 15 people (34,9%). The attitude category is classified as good as 19 people (44.2%) and the enough as much as 23 person (53,5%). The action category is classified into good categories of 17 people (39.5%) and the enough as many as 24 people (55,8%). Based on this, it is expectation for health workers, especially nurses to be more active to improve health education or counseling to people with diabetes mellitus and the community in Baler Bale Agung Village so that cases of diabetes mellitus in Jembarana district can decrease and prevent the risk of death from complications that is raised. And for the elderly who suffer from diabetes mellitus is expected to always be disciplined and diligent in applying the management behavior of diabetes mellitus.
