Abstract

Abstract : Data on the profile of the Denpasar City Health Office in 2018 showed the number of active family planning participants according to the Long-Term Contraception Method, namely the IUD especially in the City of Denpasar, North Denpasar District in the lowest category of 638 (20.8%). The purpose of this study was to determine the support of the husband in the selection of Intrauterine Device in the Regional Technical Implementation Unit Puskesmas I of the North Denpasar District Health Office. This type of research is a descriptive study using a cross sectional approach. The study was conducted on 18 to 25 April 2020. Samples that filled out the questionnaire in the Google form of 40 respondents were obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through a questionnaire in Google forms and data was analyzed by univariate. Based on data collected by respondents aged ≥ 35 years 24 people, the number of children more than two people 22 people, high school education 25 people, the work of housewives 25 people. The results of this study indicate that of the four types of support studied the highest percentage (92.5%) is in information support. The conclusion of this study is that husband's support has an important role for mothers, because in determining the choice of contraception, the husband can provide advice, advice, information and instructions for his wife regarding contraception to be used.
