Abstract

Kata Kunci : Stunting, ASI Eksklusif, MPASI STUNTING STATUS BASED ON THE HISTORY OF EXCLUSIVE BREASTFEEDING AND COMPLEMENTARY FEEDING AMOANG CHILDERN AGED 6-24 MONTHS AT UPTD PUSKESMAS TODO, MANGGARAI REGENCY NTT ABSTRACT Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem caused by inadequate nutrient intake during the first 1,000 days of life, including inappropriate exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices. This study aimed to determine the association between exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding practices, and stunting among children aged 6–24 months. An observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted from January to May 2026 involving 90 children. Primary data included respondents' characteristics, anthropometric measurements, history of exclusive breastfeeding, and the type, quantity, and texture of complementary feeding. Secondary data were obtained from Todo Community Health Center. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-Square test. The findings showed that 31.1% of the children were stunted. Among the stunted children, 64.3% had not received exclusive breastfeeding and were given inappropriate types of complementary feeding, while 67.9% received inappropriate quantities and textures. Chi-Square analysis showed no statistically significant association between exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding practices, and stunting status (p>0.05). These findings suggest that stunting is influenced by multiple factors beyond infant feeding practices. Strengthening parental education on appropriate complementary feeding and routine growth monitoring is recommended to promote optimal child growth and support stunting prevention.
