Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF HEMOGLOBIN LEVELS AND ERYTHROCYTE INDICES IN PREGNANT WOMEN AT PRIMA MEDIKA HOSPITAL ABSTRACT Background: Anemia in pregnant women remains a significant health issue due to iron deficiency; therefore, testing of hemoglobin levels and erythrocyte indices is necessary to detect and characterize this condition. The purpose of this study is to determine the profile of hemoglobin levels and erythrocyte indices in pregnant women at Prima Medika Hospital. The research method used was quantitative descriptive, with a sample size of 50 respondents selected using accidental sampling. Data were obtained through laboratory tests using a hematology analyzer and interviews regarding respondent characteristics, including gestational age, iron tablet intake, and history of bleeding. The results showed that the majority of pregnant women had low hemoglobin levels (24 women, 28%), while 12 women (24%) had high hemoglobin levels. Based on erythrocyte indices, most respondents exhibited microcytic hypochromic anemia, characterized by low MCV and MCH values. Additionally, pregnant women who did not regularly consume iron tablets and had a history of bleeding tended to have lower hemoglobin levels. The conclusion of this study is that the incidence of anemia remains high among pregnant women, characterized by low hemoglobin levels and changes in erythrocyte indices indicative of iron-deficiency anemia. Keywords: Hemoglobin, erythrocyte, pregnant women, anemia GAMBARAN KADAR HEMOGLOBIN DAN INDEKS ERITROSIT PADA IBU HAMIL DI RUMAH SAKIT PRIMA MEDIKA ABSTRAK Latar belakang : Anemia pada ibu hamil masih menjadi masalah kesehatan yang tinggi akibat kekurangan zat besi, sehingga diperlukan pemeriksaan kadar hemoglobin dan indeks eritrosit untuk mendeteksi serta menggambarkan kondisi tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar hemoglobin dan indeks eritrosit pada ibu hamil di Rumah Sakit Prima Medika. Metode penelitian ini adalah Deskriptif Kuantitatif dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 50 responden yang diambil. menggunakan teknik Accidental Sampling. Data diperoleh melalui pemeriksaan laboratorium menggunakan Hematology Analyzer serta wawancara terkait karakteristik responden, meliputi usia kehamilan, konsumsi tablet Fe, dan riwayat pendarahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar ibu hamil memiliki kadar hemoglobin rendah sebanyak 24 orang (28%), dan kadar hemoglobin tinggi sebanyak 12 orang (24%). Berdasarkan indeks eritrosit, sebagian besar responden menunjukan gambaran anemia mikrositik hipokrom dan ditandai dengan nilai MCV dan MCH yang rendah. Selain itu, ibu hamil yang tidak rutin mengkonsumsi table Fe dan memiliki riwayat pendarahan cenderung memiliki kadar hemoglobin yang lebih rendah. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah masih tingginya kejadian anemia pada ibu hamil yang ditandai dengan rendahnya kadar hemoglobin serta perubahan indeks eritrosit yang mengarah pada anemia defisiensi besi.
