Abstract
Batur Elementary School (SD) Negeri 3 is one of the primary schools that has never received dental and oral health services. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of permanent dental caries and eating habits of cariogenic foods in fourth grade students of SDN 3 Batur in Bangli Regency in 2019. This research was a descriptive study conducted by observational survey. The results of this study, of 38 students studied 84,2% (32 students) experienced permanent dental caries and 15,8% (6 student) who were not caries. The average dental caries is 2,15 with a low category. The persentage of students who have cariogenic food eating habits in a day with low criteria (1 time a day) is 34% (13 students), with criteria being moderate (2 times a day) as many as 37% (14 students), and students who had high cariogenic food eating habits ( 3 times a day) were 29,0% (11 students). The persentage of permanent dental caries is based on 13 categories of low cariogenic food habits (1 time a day) in which 22% (7 students) experience permanent dental caries and 100% (6 students) do not experience permanent dental caries, 44% (14 students) experienced permanent dental caries with moderate criteria for eating cariogenic food (2 times a day). And as many as 34% (11 students) have the habit of eating cariogenic foods and experiencing dental caries, permanent. The conclusion of this study is that most students experience permanent dental caries.
