Abstract

NURSING CARE FOR CHILD K WITH INEFFECTIVE AIRWAYS CLEARANCE DUE TO ASTHMA IN THE CILINAYA NURSING ROOM, RSD MANGUSADA ABSTRACT Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the respiratory tract that causes increased mucus production and bronchial narrowing. A study at Puskesmas I East Denpasar identified 74 children with asthma. Ineffective airway clearance in these children is often caused by excessive mucus and the inability to cough effectively. This case report aims to describe nursing care interventions for a child with asthma experiencing ineffective airway clearance, using a comprehensive nursing care approach. The sample in this case report is a child who met the inclusion criteria and was hospitalized for five days. The report is presented descriptively to fully illustrate the nursing process. The initial assessment revealed the main complaint of shortness of breath that began one day prior to hospitalization, along with an ineffective cough and difficulty expelling mucus. The nursing diagnosis established was ineffective airway clearance (D.0001). After five days of nursing care, the patient's mother reported a decrease in shortness of breath, and the child was able to cough and expel mucus. The evaluation emphasized the need for ongoing care, particularly through collaboration in medication administration, to achieve optimal airway clearance. This case report concludes that nursing care is effective in managing and improving airway clearance problems in pediatric asthma patients. Keywords: Nursing Care, Asthma, Children. ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA AN. K DENGAN BERSIHAN JALAN NAPAS TIDAK EFEKTIF AKIBAT ASMA DI RUANG PERAWATAN CILINAYA RSD MANGUSADA ABSTRAK Asma merupakan penyakit inflamasi kronis saluran pernapasan yang menyebabkan peningkatan produksi sekret, dan penyempitan bronkus. Hasil penelitian di Puskesmas I Denpasar Timur 74 anak penderita asma. Bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif pada anak asma disebabkan karena dahak yang berlebih dan tidak mampu batuk. Laporan kasus asuhan keperawatan pada anak dengan bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif akibat asma ini bertujuan untuk membantu mengatasi masalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif pada anak asma dengan pendekatan asuhan keperawatan. Sampel pada laporan kasus ini adalah anak penderita asma yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi, yang dirawat selama 5 hari. Laporan kasus disajikan secara deskripstif untuk bisa menggambarkan proses keperawatan secara utuh. Hasil pengkajian ditemukan berupa keluhan utama sesak sejak 1 hari sebelum masuk rumah sakit, tidak mampu batuk dan batuk berdahak dengan dahak yang sulit dikeluarkan. Diagnosis keperawatan yang dirumuskan adalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif (D.0001). Perawatan selama 5 hari ibu pasien melaporkan sesak anaknya berkurang, sudah mampu batuk dan sudah mampu mengelurkan dahak. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan perlunya perawatan lanjutan agar bersihan jalan napas tuntas dengan berkolaborasi untuk pemberian obat. Dari laporan kasus tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa asuhan keperawatan dapat membantu dalam mengatasi masalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif pada pasien asma.
