Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INSTANT FOOD CONSUMPTION AND THE INCIDENCE OF ANEMIA IN ADOLESCENT GIRLS IN SUMERTA VILLAGE, EAST DENPASAR ABSTRACT Instant food is food that is prepared in a short time and usually contains limited or low nutrients. An irregular diet accompanied by insufficient nutritional intake, especially iron, can cause low hemoglobin levels so that many adolescent girls are affected by anemia. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between instant food consumption and the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls in Sumerta Village, East Denpasar. This study uses a correlation method by looking at the relationship between variables with other variables conducted in Sumerta Village with a total sample of 36 respondents. The characteristics of the respondents were found to be mostly at the age of 17-21 years which included the advanced adolescent category with a percentage of 94.4%. The frequency of instant food consumption of adolescent female respondents, mostly included in the frequent category (4x/month) with a percentage of 69.4% with the frequency of adolescent girls experiencing moderate anemia (hemoglobin levels 8.0 - 10.9 gr/dL) with a percentage of 41.7%. Using the Chi-Square statistical test, the test results showed a probability significance value (p value) of 0.002. The probability value (0.002) < α (0.05) so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the frequency of consuming instant food with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls in Sumerta village, East Denpasar. Keywords: Instant food, Anemia, Hemoglobin Level, Adolescent Girls HUBUNGAN KONSUMSI MAKANAN INSTAN DENGAN KEJADIAN ANEMIA PADA REMAJA PUTRI DI DESA SUMERTA DENPASAR TIMUR ABSTRAK Makanan instan adalah makanan yang disiapkan dalam waktu singkat dan biasanya mengandung zat gizi yang terbatas atau rendah. Pola makan yang tidak teratur disertai asupan gizi yang kurang terutama zat besi dapat menyebabkan kadar hemoglobin yang rendah sehingga banyak remaja putri yang terkena anemia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara konsumsi makanan instan dengan kejadian anemia pada remaja putri di Desa Sumerta Denpasar Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasi dengan melihat hubungan antara variabel dengan variabel lain yang dilakukan di Desa Sumerta dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 36 responden. Karakteristik responden didapatkan paling banyak pada usia 17-21 tahun yang termasuk kategori remaja lanjut dengan persentase 94,4%. Frekuensi konsumsi makanan instan responden remaja putri, sebagian besar termasuk kedalam kategori sering (4x/bulan) dengan presentase 69,4% dengan frekuensi remaja putri mengalami anemia sedang (kadar hemoglobin 8,0 – 10,9 gr/dL) dengan persentase 41,7%. Menggunakan uji statistik Chi-Square, hasil uji menunjukkan nilai signifikansi probabilitas (p value) 0,002. Nilai probabilitas (0,002) < α (0,05) sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan frekuensi mengonsumsi makanan instan dengan dengan kejadian anemia pada remaja putri di desa Sumerta Denpasar Timur.
