Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF URIC ACID LEVELS IN TUAK DRINKERS IN SIBETAN VILLAGE, BEBANDEM SUB-DISTRICT, KARANGASEM DISTRICT ABSTRACT Background: Tuak is an alcoholic beverage derived from palm sap that contains 4% alcohol. The content of tuak beverages ranges from 4 to 6% sucrose, water, tannin, protein, minerals and alcohol. It is difficult to eliminate tuak from people's habits because tuak is a traditional drink that has been around for a long time. Meanwhile, gout is a disease in which uric acid crystals accumulate in the joints and bone tissue. Factors that cause an increase in uric acid levels in the body are age, excessive alcohol consumption, obesity, lack of physical activity, hypertension, heart disease, use of certain drugs (especially diuretics), and impaired renal function. Aims: This study is to determine the description of uric acid levels in tuak drinkers in Sibetan Village. Methods: Research using descriptive methods. The sample in this study amounted to 61 men, with purposive sampling technique, data collection using the POCT method. The results: The study showed normal uric acid levels of (34.4%) and (65.6%) had high uric acid levels. Uric acid levels in tuak drinkers based on age characteristics in the high category were (34.4%), based on the duration of high tuak consumption as much as (27.9%) based on the characteristics of the frequency of consuming high tuak by (41%) and based on the amount of consuming high tuak as much as (42.6%). Conclusion: Increased uric acid levels occurred in the age group 50-64 years with a percentage of (34.4%), duration of tuak consumption> 8 years with a percentage of (27.9%), frequency of consumption of tuak 3-4x a week with a percentage of (41%), and the amount of consuming tuak 1-2 bottles of tuak/1,200ml -1,500ml with a percentage of (42.6%). Keywords: uric acid, tuak drinkers GAMBARAN KADAR ASAM URAT PADA PEMINUM TUAK DI DESA SIBETAN, KECAMATAN BEBANDEM, KABUPATEN KARANGASEM ABSTRAK Latar Belakang : Tuak adalah minuman beralkohol yang berasal dari nira aren yang mengandung 4% alkohol. Kandungan minuman tuak berkisar antara 4 hingga 6% sukrosa, air, tanin, protein, mineral, dan alkohol. Sulit untuk menghilangkan tuak dari kebiasaan masyarakat karena tuak adalah minuman tradisional yang telah ada sejak lama. Sedangkan asam urat adalah penyakit di mana kristal asam urat menumpuk di persendian dan jaringan tulang. Faktor yang menyebabkan peningkatan kadar asam urat dalam tubuh yaitu usia, konsumsi alkohol secara berlebihan, obesitas, kurangnya aktivitas fisik, hipertensi, penyakit jantung, penggunaan obat tertentu (terutama diuretik), dan gangguan fungsi ginjal. Tujuan : Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar asam urat pada peminum tuak di Desa Sibetan. Metode : Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 61 orang laki-laki, dengan teknik purposive sampling, pengambilan data menggunakan metode POCT. Hasil : Penelitian menunjukkan kadar asam urat normal sebesar (34,4%) serta (65,6%) memiliki kadar asam urat tinggi. Kadar asam urat pada peminum tuak berdasarkan karakteiristik usia pada kategori tinggi sebesar (34,4%), berdasarkan lama konsumsi tuak tinggi sebanyak (27,9%) berdasarkan karakteiristik frekuensi meingonsumsi tuak tinggi sebesar (41%) serta berdasarkan jumlah mengonsumsi tuak tinggi sebanyak (42,6%). Simpulan : Peningkatan kadar asam urat terjadi pada kelompok usia 50-64 tahun dengan persentase (34,4%), lama konsumsi tuak >8 tahun dengan persentase (27,9%), frekuensi konsumsi tuak 3-4x seminggu dengan persentase (41%), dan jumlah mengonsumsi tuak 1-2 botol tuak/1.200ml -1.500ml dengan presentase (42,6%).
