Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF HEMOGLOBIN LEVELS IN ACTIVE SMOKERS IN RT 02 WANASARI HAMLET, DAUH PURI KAJA VILLAGE, NORTH DENPASAR DISTRICT ABSTRACT Background: Smoking is bad for health because it contains carbon monoxide which is very easy to bind to hemoglobin compared to oxygen. So that hemoglobin levels increase due to the reflex mechanism of the body's compensation for low levels of oxygen bound to hemoglobin. If it continues, hypoxia can occur which if left unchecked can lead to cell death. Based on the survey results in RT 02 Dusun Wanasari found 185 active smokers. The high population density and smoking habits that are considered reasonable cause a large number of smokers and the tendency to become smokers more easily. Purpose: To determine hemoglobin levels in active smokers in RT 02 Wanasari Hamlet, Dauh Puri Kaja Village, North Denpasar District. Methods: This type of research is descriptive research with simple random sampling technique. The sample size was 36 respondents who were examined using the POCT method. Results: The hemoglobin level in the high category was 19.4% and the normal category was 80.6%. For the normal category, the majority were found in respondents with characteristics aged 26-33 years and 50-57 years, the category of moderate smokers (11-20 cigarettes per day), and the category of smoking duration >10 years. Conclusion: High hemoglobin levels in active smokers were found in respondents aged 26-33 years in the category of moderate smokers (11-20 cigarettes per day) and smoking >10 years. Keywords: Hemoglobin Level, Active Smoker, POCT GAMBARAN KADAR HEMOGLOBIN PADA PEROKOK AKTIF DI RT 02 DUSUN WANASARI DESA DAUH PURI KAJA KECAMATAN DENPASAR UTARA ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Merokok berdampak buruk bagi kesehatan karena mengandung karbon monoksida yang sangat mudah berikatan dengan hemoglobin dibandingkan dengan oksigen. Sehingga kadar hemoglobin meningkat akibat refleks mekanisme kompensasi tubuh terhadap rendahnya kadar oksigen yang berikatan dengan hemoglobin. Jika berlanjut dapat terjadi hipoksia yang jika dibiarkan dapat menyebabkan kematian sel. Berdasarkan hasil survei di RT 02 Dusun Wanasari ditemukan 185 perokok aktif. Kepadatan penduduk yang tinggi serta kebiasaan merokok yang dianggap wajar menimbulkan banyaknya jumlah perokok dan kecenderungan menjadi perokok lebih mudah. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui kadar hemoglobin pada perokok aktif di RT 02 Dusun Wanasari Desa Dauh Puri Kaja Kecamatan Denpasar Utara. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskritif dengan teknik simple random sampling. Besar sampel sebanyak 36 responden yang diperiksa menggunakan metode POCT. Hasil: Diperoleh hasil kadar hemoglobin kategori tinggi sebanyak 19,4% dan kategori normal sebanyak 80,6%. Untuk kategori normal ditemukan paling banyak pada responden dengan karakteristik usia 26-33 tahun dan 50-57 tahun, kategori perokok sedang (11-20 batang per hari), dan kategori lama merokok >10 tahun. Simpulan: Kadar hemoglobin tinggi pada perokok aktif ditemukan pada responden berusia 26-33 tahun dengan kategori perokok sedang (11-20 batang per hari) dan lama merokok >10 tahun.
