Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF HEMOGLOBIN LEVELS IN ADOLESCENT SMOKERS IN SIDEMEN VILLAGE AREA, KARANGASEM REGENCY ABSTRACT Background Carbon monoxide contained in cigarettes has a high affinity for hemoglobin, making it easier for the two compounds to bind to each other, thereby reducing the capacity of hemoglobin to transport oxygen. This causes tissue hypoxia, so the body tries to increase hemoglobin levels to compensate. In heavy smokers there is an increase in hemoglobin levels. The purpose of the study was to determine the description of Hemoglobin Levels in Adolescent Active Smokers in Sidemen Village, Karangasem Regency. Method research non-probability by purposive sampling taken on active smokers in Sidemen Village, Karangasem Regency with a sample size of 30 people. The results obtained 27 people (90%) Normal Hemoglobin Levels and 3 people (10%) High Hemoglobin levels. High hemoglobin levels in respondents with an age range of 17-25 years (10%). The number of cigarettes with high hemoglobin levels in the light group (3%) and in the moderate group (7%). The duration of smoking with high hemoglobin levels in the range of >3 years (10%). In conclusion, most of the active smokers in Sidemen Village, Karangasem Regency have normal hemoglobin levels. Keywords: adolescents, active smokers, hemoglobin levels GAMBARAN KADAR HEMOGLOBIN PADA REMAJA PEROKOK AKTIF DI WILAYAH DESA SIDEMEN KABUPATEN KARANGASEM ABSTRAK Latar belakang Karbon monoksida yang terkandung dalam rokok memiliki afinitas yang besar terhadap hemoglobin memudahkan kedua senyawa tersebut untuk saling berikatan, sehingga mengurangi kapasitas hemoglobin dalam pengangkutan oksigen. Hal ini menimbulkan terjadinya hipoksia jaringan, sehingga tubuh berusaha untuk meningkatkan kadar hemoglobin sebagai kompensasinya. Pada perokok berat terjadi peningkatan kadar hemoglobin. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui Gambaran Kadar Hemoglobin Pada Remaja Perokok Aktif di Desa Sidemen Kabupaten Karangasem. Metode penelitian menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan Teknik non probability secara purposive sampling yang diambil pada perokok aktif di Desa Sidemen Kabupaten Karangasem dengan besar sampel 30 orang. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 27 orang (90%) Kadar Hemoglobin Normal dan 3 orang (10%) kadar Hemoglobin Tinggi. Kadar hemoglobin tinggi pada responden dengan rentang umur 17-25 tahun (10%). Jumlah rokok dengan kadar hemoglobin tinggi pada kelompok ringan (3%) dan pada kelompok sedang (7%). Lamanya merokok dengan kadar hemoglobin tinggi pada rentang >3 tahun (10%). Simpulan sebagian besar perokok aktif di Desa Sidemen Kabupaten Karangasem memiliki kadar hemoglobin normal. Kata kunci : remaja, perokok aktif, kadar hemoglobin
