Abstract

RELATIONSHIP OF THE DURATION OF GADGET PHYSICAL ACTIVITY WITH NUTRITIONAL STATUS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN IN THE DISTRICT OF MENGWI ABSTRACT Nutritional status is one of the factors that cause whether or not a person's physical fitness is good. One of the factors that can affect nutritional status is physical activity, low physical activity can have an impact on weight gain so that it can affect a person's nutritional status. Physical activity can also be directly affected by the use of gadgets, where if you often use gadgets it will have an impact on low activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the duration of gadget, physical activity and the nutritional status of elementary school children in Mengwi sub-district. This type of research is an observational and sectional, with a sample of 83 elementary school children in grades 4 and 5. This data is presented with a frequency table and a cross table and then analyzed using the Chi Squire Test. The results showed that as many as 35 samples (42.2%) were classified as using gadgets in the excessive category, as many as 39 samples (47.0%) belonging to low physical activity, as many as 4 samples (4.9%) classified as undernourished and as many as 28 samples. (33.7%) classified as overweight and obese. The results of the analysis showed that there was no relationship between the duration of gadget and physical activity (P = 0.805 > 0.05) and there was a relationship between physical activity and nutritional status (P = 0.000 < 0.05).
