Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF KNOWLEDGE LEVEL OF DENTAL AND ORAL HYGIENE AND DENTAL BRUSHING SKILLS IN CLASS IV AND V STUDENTS OF SDN 2 MEDAHAN, GIANYAR REGENCY IN 2022 ABSTRACT Dental and oral health is a gateway for germs and bacteria to enter so that it can interfere with the health of other body organs. Dental and oral health knowledge can also be increased through health promotion. Brushing behavior is influenced by: how to brush your teeth, frequency of brushing your teeth, when you brush your teeth, and tools and materials for brushing your teeth. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of knowledge about dental and oral hygiene and tooth brushing skills in fourth and fifth grade students of SD 2 Medan, Gianyar Regency, in 2022. This type of research is a descriptive study using a total population of 40 respondents. The results of research on knowledge with good criteria of one person (2.5%), sufficient criteria 14 people (35%), less criteria 25 people (62.5%). The average knowledge is 50.75 with less criteria. The percentage of skills with good criteria is 13 people (32.5%), enough criteria is 26 people (65%), and the criteria needs guidance from one person (2.5%). The average skill is 63.75 with sufficient criteria. It was concluded that the level of knowledge about dental and oral hygiene in students was the most with the criteria of less than 25 people (62.5%) and the least results with good criteria were one person (2.5%) and the most brushing skills with criteria enough as many as 26 people (65%) results at least with the criteria need guidance as much as one person (2.5%). Keywords: knowledge, skills, students, dental and oral hygiene GAMBARAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN KEBERSIHAN GIGI DAN MULUT SERTA KETERAMPILAN MENYIKAT GIGI PADA SISWA KELAS IV DAN V SDN 2 MEDAHAN KABUPATEN GIANYAR TAHUN 2022 ABSTRAK Kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan pintu gerbang masuknya kuman dan bakteri sehingga dapat menggaggu kesehatan organ tubuh lainnya. Pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut juga dapat ditingkatkan melalui promosi kesehatan. Perilaku menyikat gigi dipengaruhi oleh: cara menyikat gigi, frekuensi menyikat gigi, waktu menyikat gigi, serta alat dan bahan menyikat gigi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat pengetahuan tentang kebersihan gigi dan mulut serta keterampilan menyikat gigi pada siswa kelas IV dan V SD 2 Medahan, Kabupaten Gianyar, Tahun 2022. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif yang menggunakan total populasi yaitu sebanyak 40 responden. Hasil penelitian tentang pengetahuan dengan Kriteria baik satu orang (2,5%), kriteria cukup 14 orang (35%), kriteria kurang 25 orang (62,5%). Rata-rata pengetahuan 50,75 dengan kriteria kurang. Persentase keterampilan dengan kriteria baik 13 orang (32,5%), kriteria cukup 26 orang (65%), dan kriteria perlu bimbingan satu orang (2,5%). Rata-rata keterampilan 63,75 dengan kriteria cukup. Kesimpulkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan tentang kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada siswa hasil paling banyak dengan kriteria kurang sebanyak 25 orang (62,5%) dan hasil paling sedikit dengan kriteria baik sebanyak satu orang (2,5%) dan keterampilan menyikat gigi paling banyak dengan kriteria cukup sebanyak 26 orang (65%) hasil paling sedikit dengan kriteria perlu bimbingan sebanyak satu orang (2,5%).
