Abstract
The achievement of exclusive breastfeeding is still low in the working area of the Buleleng II Health Center and toddlers with malnutrition are still found. Knowledge and the role of support from other people and the closest people are very large in the success or failure of exclusive breastfeeding practices. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between family support and knowledge of breastfeeding with exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Buleleng II Public Health Center. This type of research is an observational cross�sectional design by surveying a total sample of mothers who have babies 6-12 months old. Conducted from May to June 2021 in the working area of the Buleleng II Health Center, the data were analyzed using the Chi Square test. A total of 91.2% (93 of 102 mothers) participated in this study. The results showed that there was no relationship between family support and exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.677) and there was a relationship between knowledge of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.037). The support that mothers receive in the practice of exclusive breastfeeding is not yet optimal, in this case husbands, in�laws, parents, especially in-laws. There is a need for education and counseling about the important role of the family, sharing roles, providing time to rest for mothers and providing adequate facilities and education about the ideal age for babies to be given complementary feeding needs to be given by the Buleleng II Public Health Center on a regular basis
