Abstract

Diarrhea is an objec abnormal stools with frequency of spending three times or more with a view consistent mushy, liquid, until with or without blood and mucus in the stool. Objective:was to determine the description of hand washing behavior to prevent diarrhea in school age children in the working area of UPT Kesmas Sukawati 1, Gianyar. The research site was conducted in the Work Area of the UPT Kesmas Sukawati 1 Gianyar from January to April 2021. This study used design survey research with aapproach cross sectional.. The population in this study were school age children aged 7-15 years and were willing to be respondents. The sample uses primary data taken from 81 respondents through the google form application which is distributed via whatsApp and analyzed using SPSS. The results showed that most of the respondents in the knowledge category had sufficient knowledge, namely as many as 55 people (67.9%). In terms of attitudes, most of the respondents had attitudes in the sufficient category, namely as many as 48 people (59.3%). In action, most of the respondents were in the moderate category, namely as many as 45 people (55.6%). Suggestions for hand hygiene behavior in school-age children can be improved through education and supervision by parents and teachers at school.
