Abstract

CONSUMPTION PATTERN OF FAST FOOD AND SOFT DRINK AND INCIDENCE OF OBESITY IN ADOLESCENTS ABSTRACT Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood. The occurrence of obesity nutritional problems in adolescents arises because of wrong nutritional behavior. In Indonesia, the prevalence of overweight and obesity is 16.0% in adolescents aged 13-15 years and 13.5% in adolescents aged 16-18 years. The purpose of this study was to describe the relationship between fast food consumption patterns and soft drinks. and obesity in adolescents. This type of research uses library research related to the research topic. From the observations that have been studied, it is found that adolescents who consume high-energy modern fast food range from 12.50% to 42.7%. The intake of high energy local fast food ranged from 42.50% to 61.5%. The frequency that often consumes fast food ranges from 46.7%-64.6%. Meanwhile, adolescents who consume modern fast food are low in energy ranging from 54.2% to 57.3%. Intake of low energy local fast food ranged from 38.5%-46.9%. And the rare frequency ranges from 21.5%-53.3%. Adolescents who consumed high energy soft drink intake were 27.50%. The frequency often ranges from 23.2% to 62%. Meanwhile, for adolescents who consume low energy soft drink intake is 72.50%. The rare frequency ranges from 25% to 76.8%. The incidence of obesity in adolescents ranges from 6.5%-63%. The relationship between consumption patterns of fast food and soft drinks and the incidence of obesity in adolescents is not homogeneous.
