Abstract
RELATIONSHIP OF PROTEIN CONSUMPTION AND HISTORY OF INFECTION WITH STUNTING ON CHILDREN UNDER TWO YEARS ABSTRACT Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five years as a result of chronic malnutrition so that the child is too short for his age. Stunting is also an indicator of shortness using the formula for height for age (height / age). Body length for age (PB / U). Stunting can affect children under five in the long term, namely disrupting health, education and productivity later. Inadequate protein consumption and a history of infectious diseases of children under two years are direct factors causing stunting, where if the child is consuming less protein, it will quickly develop infectious diseases and will have an impact on the growth of these children under two years, and if children under two years experiences an infectious disease then the children intake will reduced absorption in the body. This research method is a literature study from various references, namely research articles or journals, journal reviews, annual reports, and data that support the incidence of stunting published from 2010-2020. The search was carried out using the google search engine on the internet with keywords, protein consumption of children under two years, history of infection with children under two years and stunting of children under two years. Based on the results of the literature review, it can be seen that the protein consumption of children under two years in Indonesia is mostly still less than the RDA (<80% sufficient), many children under two years in Indonesia also have experienced infectious diseases such as diarrhea and ARI, and many children under two years suffer from nutritional problems with stunting. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between protein consumption and a history of infectious diseases, there is a relationship between protein consumption and stunting in under-five children and there is a relationship between a history of infectious diseases and the incidence of stunting in under-five children Keywords : consumption of protein, infectious diseases, stunting and children under two years
