Abstract

Satisfaction of breastfeeding babies is the goal of breastfeeding for postpartum mothers. Now there are still many babies whose satisfaction in arranging them has not been fulfilled because the expenditure of colostrum / mother's milk has not been smooth. The non-smooth production of colostrum/breast milk is caused by a lack of stimulation of the hormones oxytocin and prolactin, to stimulate these hormones, oxytocin massage is given. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in infant satisfaction with breastfeeding before and after oxytocin massage for postpartum mothers. The design of this research is a two groups pretest posttest design. The population of this study was normal postpartum mothers according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria which were divided into 2 groups, namely 17 intervention groups and 17 control groups. The results of this study showed that the intervention group research of infant satisfaction increased by 88.2% or as many as 15 babies from 17 babies. While in the control group there was no increase in the satisfaction of breastfeeding infants as much as 70.6% or from the 17 infants observed, 12 infants were still dissatisfied with breastfeeding. The results of the bivarite analysis of the value of p = 0.000. Because the value of p < (0.05), then H0 is rejected. This shows that there are differences in the satisfaction of breastfeeding infants in postpartum mothers after oxytocin massage. Based on the data, it can be concluded that the satisfaction of breastfeeding infants is better after oxytocin massage for postpartum mothers. It is hoped that from this study, oxytocin massage can be applied to postpartum mothers so that baby's satisfaction can be fulfilled.
