Abstract
Appendicitis is a case of emergency that occurs due to inflammation of the digestive organs. Management carried out in cases of appendicitis is appendectomy. Post appendectomy patients can experience various health problems, one of which is acute pain. The purpose of writing KIAN is to apply nursing care to patients with guided imagery in postoperative appendectomy cases with acute pain nursing problems in the IBS Recovery Room, Sanglah Hospital Denpasar. In the assessment stage, data on patients complained of pain in the surgical scar, pain scale 6 (1-10), pain felt like a stabbing, and was felt continuously. Based on the results of the assessment conducted, the main nursing diagnosis that was appointed was acute pain. One of the interventions given to overcome the problem of acute pain nursing diagnoses is the provision of guided imagery. The results of the evaluation show that the provision of guided imagery is effective in reducing pain from moderate pain (scale 6) to mild pain with scale of pain between 2-3. Nursing care for postoperative appendectomy patients who experience acute pain needs to be considered by every nurse to prevent more serious health problems. Guided imagery can be applied as a therapy to against pain in post appendectomy patient. Keywords: Guided Imagery, Acute Pain, Post Appendectomy Surgery
