Abstract
Background : Breast milk is the best nutrition to protect infants and toddlers from various diseases, including during the COVID-19 outbreak that attacks all over the world. There is a biological protection found in breast milk, so many experts are surprised that breastfeeding mothers still have to continue breastfeeding during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to determine the description of exclusive breastfeeding for breastfeeding mothers during the Covid-19 pandemic in the village of burdendem in 2021. This type of research is descriptive with a cross sectional approach. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen from 77 respondents that most of the respondents were aged 26-35 years, as many as 55 (71.4%) respondents, the education of the respondents was more at the high school level 29 respondents (37.7%), respondents worked as housewives ( IRT) as many as 50 (64.9%) respondents. Exclusive breastfeeding during the Covid-19 pandemic in the village of Loaddem was in the sufficient category as many as 59 respondents (76.6%) respondents. The results of characteristics related to maternal age with exclusive breastfeeding, showed that most of the mothers/respondents aged 26-35 years gave exclusive breastfeeding, namely 45 (58.4%) respondents. The characteristics of the work of mothers with exclusive breastfeeding, showed that most of the mothers/respondents who had jobs as housewives (IRT) provided sufficient exclusive breastfeeding, namely 37 (48.1%) respondents. The characteristics of mother's education with exclusive breastfeeding, showed that most of the mothers/respondents with high school education gave exclusive breastfeeding, as many as 24 (31.2%) respondents. It is hoped that good cooperation and communication between health care workers, nurses, midwives, or cadres with the community, especially mothers who are breastfeeding related to breastfeeding information during a pandemic, all elements or individuals understand the concept of exclusive breastfeeding during a pandemic.
